My kids are not back until Wednesday. They've enjoyed their extended holiday and all that playing in the snow, but they need to get a little normality back into their lives ASAP.

    Bonerm:
Give him the next 3 days off anyway. He's just wasting his time there. Glorified childminding.

Yes, that is all teachers do........
Thanks God the schools are open tomorrow. It's been too long at this stage. Could have just announced closure for Monday and addressed the remainder of the week this morning - would not have come in for flak had they done this - simple.

    kelle - everybody does.

But you have to trust your principal's decision. He/She is more aware than you of the little issues that that may arise - where the likely icy patches are, heating/ water facilities etc.

It amazes me how there is so much distrust in this country towards school management or even teacher's decisions. Yet you're happy to leave your children with these people that you believe are so incapable!

Since you went off-topic, yet again, in this thread I might as well direct you to an aswer to your question. Have a look in this thread for the answers. :)

Is this comment in your moderator hat or poster hat?

Because I know I'm not supposed to argue with moderators :)

    That's a bit OTT!

All I'm saying is that it will be great for the children to get back to school and back to normality - i don't know where you get the impression I said teachers or management were incapable!

I apologise if I read too much into your post Kelle.

I hope your kids get back into their routine really soon when their school opens again :)

Ehhh, I'm glad. Getting sick of being off at this stage.

Anyways, not all schools are back tomorrow. Some are, some ain't. I'm back on Wed.

There's no way the schools can re-open round my way, still loads of snow/slush which is now freezing . . . lovely.

Agree that the Minister could have closed the schools 'til today then reviewed the situation.

Am delighted that the schools are closed as my Daddy is a bus driver and the roads around here are lethal at the mo.

At least (I hope) no one can bitch about the closures because it was the minister's decision not the principals' (my mam is a teacher and you wouldn't believe the comments she has had to endure) :(

If I was still in school I'd be raging right now.

You hear me? Raging. They'd fear the wrath of many angry blog entries and petitions.
