Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi all,

    Some advice if possible please,

A friend of mine has a Powerbook G4 and he tried to start the notebook as normal but it would not boot into the OS. He rang Apple and they got him to press some buttons at startup and begin to reinstall the OS. He the dialog asking to select a partition, but no HDD was recognised. Only the DVD drive was recognised in the Disk Utility. Also there seems to be a clicking noise coming from the HDD. The notebook was brought to a Apple repair center and they could not retrieve the data and said it would have to be sent away to have the HDD segmented by hand in a cleanroom and would cost €500 ! (Its not like the HDD has state secrets on it !!!)

Does anyone know if the data is recoverable and is there a way of doing it. ??

    Thanks
