Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hey folks,

So I need to put three of these
    net_CAT%205%20cable%20with%20RJ-45%20connector.jpg

    into three of these:
    UK_BT_Plug_to_RJ11_Socket_Phone_Coupler_1.jpg

the electrician wired my father's office rather shoddily, and put RJ45 heads on to cables that have to go into RJ11 sockets.

Are there adaptors out there, or do I have to go and rewire it all?

    Please and thank you.
    WP.

If you want to do a neater job at it you can buy RJ11 plugs and a crimper (you can get kits on eBay with punch tool, cable testers and everything), or just replace the RJ11 sockets with RJ45 ones (you'll need a punch down tool and maybe wire strippers).

There are no side effects of using RJ45 for telephone equipment as long as you wire it the same way you would a RJ11 plug.
