    My understanding is that you have to be 18 years of age to enter in to the contract to buy a house.

    You might be better off asking in the Soc/Legal Discussion section.

    Agreed. Although I imagine they can still inherit.

    There are some complications and I understand there are changes with the new conveyancing act.

    I know of a person who bought 2 houses (one for each of his sons who are both minors). The houses are in the young lads names. Not sure how it was done.

    The homes are held "in trust" for the kids until they turn 18.
