I know! What the hell are we doing? Although I think that homework will be enough for now. I would love to be able to study though

Kinda just waiting for teachers to lessen the homework load. Then I will be able to study more in the evenings without being wrecked;)

I keep saying i'll start studying and never do. Looking at the points i need it's given me a boost to start working so i did a good bit today. I looked at each subject and exactly what i had to do in the exam, how much time to spend on each section ect. and it was daunting so i decided i have to work! In general though i'd spend more time on homework so i'd only do about an hour every night of study unless i had an exam.

I've been doing about 18 hrs a week (in theory...real numbers probably lower) so far but I'm bumping that up to about 25-28hrs a week in the run up to the mocks.

Wait, just realised homework doesn't count. Without homework it's more like 13hrs a week so far, and going up to 20hrs.

Lol so true. I don't do a lot, going to start doing Evening Study though, at least then I'll be forced into doing a bit.

I'm going with what I did before the Christmas holidays. I think 21 hours plus homework and I am counting weekends. During the Christmas holidays I did very little because I needed a break. But when I am back from the Christmas break on Thursday I hope to up it a bit at the weekends..

We have after school study in mine luckily,and I generally have 2 or more studys during the day besides thursdays but I dont count them.

Monday- 3.5 hrs
Tuesday-2.5 hrs
Wensday-2.5hrs
thursday-2.5 hrs
Friday...well have never really done any yet but will move this to 2 to 3.5 hrs soon I'd say

Saturday-none
Sunday-Only H/w really..if anything!

I'm only going for around 350 points,maybe 360-370 and have to work hard enough for it as I coant count on any of my pass subjects for points((Maths,Irish and Jap as Im terrible at them))

Wierd thing is, every now and then I do about six hours in a night.

I've started studying just this week, I'm happy with it so far. Doing 2 nights of one hour's study (two subjects) and two nights of one and a half hours study (3 subjects).

So once I keep it up, 5 hours each week.

It's hard to do much study when teachers continue to give you homework for the course and not necessarily in preparation for the mocks. Most of them said today "Oh we don't have time to revise for mocks, I have to finish the course etc. etc."

From now until the mocks the only time I'll take off is saturday evernings and sunday mornings. The rest is study and schoolwork.

this is true,I have a chem pre-mock next monday and i could get to it as h/w takes until 11.30 at most!
monday getting timetable for mocks!

If you do all of your homework in an applied standard and pay good attention in class and really TRY to take it in, you don't need to do much study.

I didn't study at all for the leaving cert but absorbed the work that I done to a good standard and came out with 425. Try it.

I couldn't care less if anyone doesn't believe me, in fact that reply is exactly what I would expect from a nay sayer. I know in my head what happened and regardless of what someone says on an online forum, I know that it's true.

God forbid someone might actually be able to do well without study . .

Humans aren't all the same so don't doubt something that you have no knowledge of. You don't know who I am so who are you to say that I'm not telling the truth?
