Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

D40 problem?

    Hi all

After looking for one for ages I managed to track down a Nikon D40. I bought it new from a shop but I assume given that they'd been discontinued for a while it's been in the shop for a bit.

Anyway all is good except when I'm looking on the LCD screen at photos I've taken. If there's a portion of the picture that's all white then this portion of the picture flashes between black and then back to the white.

Has anyone seen this before? Is this a serious problem? I hope not given that it's taken me so long to find the camera! Obviously planning on bringing it back but want to know what I can expect!

    Cheers

    Simon

This is the highlight feature on the preview. Nothing to be worried about!
When previewing an image on the D40 press down (below "OK") to cycle through the different preview modes.

    Ah ha so it is!!

Well thank God I checked here and made a fool of myself here rather than making an even bigger fool of myself by bringing it back or trying to claim off the warranty!

...off to finish reading the manual!!

    Thanks again for that!
