Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Buckled one of alloys this morning (18 inch) in a pothole. air seeped out fairly quickly. im wondering whether to get it repaired or buy a new alloy. Will the integrity of the alloy be compromised if repaired?

    cheers for any replys

If it's just buckled then a repair should be fine, most alloys are fairly soft anyway. A crack or severe buckle would warrant a replacement in my opinion.

It would also depend if the rim was fractured or not.

no crack in it, buckle is probably 15-20mm in from where it should be. air came out pretty fast.

Same thing just happened to me, went in to get new tyre (sidewall got damaged after driving on it) and they originally quoted me 50EU as well to get it fixed, but were able to sort it themselves for a lot cheaper as it wasn't as bad as they thought. Need to keep a close eye on it for the next while to make sure it's not leaking.
Took a couple of days to get a replacement tyre (big demand at the moment obviously) and was not happy driving around with the ridiculous little spare that gets provided - going to try to source a proper wheel for next time.

im the same. got the space saver spare on and its a joke. no imperfections on the tyre so hope its ok. was the buckle bad on yours? did you go to a specialist to get it fixed?

No just my regular tyre supplier, he was going to send it away to a specialist but it turned out it was still straight, just dinged and didn't need straightening. Just got lucky, I guesss.
Been checking out E-bay for replacement wheels (cheapest I can see is about 60stg for an 2nd hand alloy wheel on it's own) , also going to ring round a few scrap yards to see what they have, you don't want to be driving around in weather like this with one of those yokes on your car!
