Triathalon (home or abroad) with short swim?

Hi, I'm looking to do a triathlon this year but don't know if I would be able for a 1.5k swim in cold water, (sorry, I know you're all thinking im a woos!). Could you recommend a one here or on the continent where the swim is not too challenging. Thank you. Penny
