J1 Question

    Hey guys,

Thinking about going on a J1 this summer. The plan is to hit either New York or Boston I think. We'll probably go with Sayit as they seem the cheapest.

Anyway, I justed wanted to ask; is it necessary to book return flights home before they grant you your visa? We want to go travelling for the last month so we're not sure where we'd be flying back to Ireland from.

    Thanks.

You won't get an interview with the embassy without return tickets, they're really strict on it. However, you can book flights home from wherever and then change them a few weeks or days before you are going to fly. They just will not let you into the country without proof that you are going to leave!
