That eGo batt is really cool. Must wait and get one.
I tried Halo juice. Is very good. My was Torque 56 or something like that.
Ego mega atty - hmm i don't like it. I had couple of them. Poor vapour production, too big mouth piece.
I can post some photos how is looks like when I get home.

I see that McCabes Pharmacies are now selling the e-cig too! Quite surprised by this given the recent debate on e-cigs but if the pharmacies are weighing in on the whole thing I would say it is good news.

The only main downside is that I would guess the pharmacies may end up stocking inferior products that will only put people off them.

Each to their own I suppose but I like the mega atty simply because I can put the liquid in and vape away for a good while before needing to top up. I find vapour production fine tbh.

Just trying the Halo Freedom. Not bad, a subtle flavour but probably too early to say if I like it. My top liquid remains Usa Mix from Liberty Flights for now.

So I got my Prodigy V3 today. Man, does it kick like a mule, I'm utterly converted to 6V vaping now after only a few hours use, it's just a far more satisfying vaping experience!

So jealous! I cant stop stop looking at the Omega PV at the moment and I am almost certain I will cave into temptation and buy it!

Yeah I looked at the Omega but was turned off by the switch type. Next mod I'd go for would be a Silver Bullet I think or perhaps a variable voltage mod.

Had my silver bullet for some time now. Could not be happier. It's simply amazing - had it out on the pub and converted many people to the idea of vaping since it simply tastes better than cigarettes, doesnt smell, and gives the same satisfaction.

Smoke free for 30 days, even when out drinking. Never worked for me before when i "quit"..

Same here, first time off cigarettes where I'm craving free while drinking or out socialising.

I have the DSE-801 ,I tried the tobacco flavor cartridges ,there not bad. Then I bought the menthol flavor liquid which is much better ,but I find I have to continually drip on to the atomiser or keep refilling the cartridge.I find after two or three pulls I don't get the desired hit! Is there a really good e-cig that will give you an all round good experience???

  • Registered Users Posts: 169 ✭✭Opit

Same here - bad experience with penstyle atomizers.
You should try eGo or even regular 510 ecig.
On www.thebestshop.eu you can get new Eco eGo with stronger battery or cheap 510B.
You can also get eGo Mega atomizer and some Mega carts from www.thevapourstore.ie
They works very stable to last drop of juice.
Is very importand to keep atomizer in good condition and replace cart after few days.
For me one 510 aty thats about 3 weeks of vaping. After that time taste really bad.
Get some 24-26mg eliquid and you should be happy.
    Both e-shops are OK.

I have no experience with any MOD ecigs or 5V vaping yet.

Cartridge filler and cartridges in general are the real outstanding issue with e-cigs at the moment. There are various auto-feed systems appearing and eventually this will improve but the standard cart filler is pretty crap in general for all types. In the meantime many folks recommend the blue foam from Strictly E-Juice.

Yes they are in the US but good delivery times and not a bad price (grab a few packs I would suggest). By all means try other models of e-cigs but the actual wicking from cart to atomizer is not the best on any of them as standard. It is improving and those mega carts are pretty good. I would still reckon that liquid that has seeped to the bottom of even the mega cart will still go to waste like the smaller carts.

Yeah I hope some decent ones come out soon.I have taken the blank cartridge off the mouth piece and I directly drip then put the mouth piece back on minus the cartridge.

I get a decent couple of drags this way ,then it's back to dripping again!I like the sound of the auto feed system.I must keep my eye on this.:)

There are some auto-feed mods available already and some are highly regarded like the wet box for example. Most are box mods. Some examples are:-

The Wet Box - great reviews
The Integrity - made by a regular poster on ukvapers, good feedback
Mr. Puffer - uses a modified cartridge
The Reo - good feedback on this fella too

Theres also a stand alone auto-feed available that I got from notcigs.com:-

The Dripper - which is a modified cartridge and a bottle with a button that controls the liquid by dispensing 2 drops with each press. I haven't had a chance to try it yet but the handy thing is it can be used with any of my devices.

Hey folks; got a Tornado starter kit from TECC in August but the mains charger just packed it in - hopefully going to get a replacement but in the meantime, i might invest in a USB charger for convenience - can anyone tell me if the standard USB charger would work with my batteries?

ie. this one from the vapourstore.ie
    http://www.thevapourstore.ie/dse-901-usb-charger/prod_27.html

    Thanks

The Tornado/Ego needs a particular usb charger but thevapourstore sell it too and it's the same price - http://www.thevapourstore.ie/new-joye-ego/fast-usb-charger-for-joye-ego/prod_256.html

Another random (and possibly stupid...) question from me on chargers?

Just bought the Tornado/Ego usb charger suggested by Mewso. For some reason it only seems to give me about 5 puffs worth of charge even if i charge it for a couple of hours........

Before i send the damn thing back, anyone have any suggestons for what i might be doing wrong....?

I find the chargers can be finicky. Sometimes when you screw them in the light doesn't turn red (which it shoud to inidcate charging). I often need to clean out the contacts on the charger and battery to be sure. In any case your button should flash and the light on the charger turn red to indicate it is charging. The light on the charger will turn green when the battery has finished charging. Depending on the battery it can take way longer than some of the claims on the vendors' sites. All this assumes you are using the right charger with the right battery.

*edit I would contact the vapour store if it continues to be a problem (if you bought from them). The picture on their site doesn't look like my charger now that I look at it so maybe they are sending out the wrong one.

I came across this thread today - very interesting and some really informative posts.

I'm going to take the plunge and give this a go. I was looking at vapourstore.ie and was considering the Joye eGo and a few spare cartridges just to give it a go and see how I get on.

Can anyone provide any feedback on the Joye eGo?

What's the e-cig from McCabes Pharmacies like?

The Joy Ego is hands down the best electronic cigarette to start with. I don't know what model McCabe's are selling. No disrespect to them as they are stocking some other companies product but that company is not specifying what model it is and passing it off as their own which always gets on my goat. It's an attempt to make people think they are the only company you can go to.

The Ego is the business as a starter e-cig. I was sure I'd stick with it permanently until I got myself a Prodigy (6V)... But a Prodigy is a fairly serious investment at over a 100 quid so you really wouldn't want to start out with one!

    Hi vapers,

I want to try and get set up with this stuff to try and replace and kick smoking analogues completely. After doing a bit of research last night, it seems like the Joye eGo is the way to go. I currently smoke 10/12 a day for the last 12 years or so. I just need some advice on what I need to get with my first order.

Joy eGo starter kit with maybe five extra cartridges? A few extra batteries and atty's? What flavour would be most similar to my Marlboro Lights and / or Drum rolling tobacco? Pre-filled or empties with juice? So many questions!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You get 2 batteries with the Ego so theres no panic there but I would recommend an XL battery purely because it lasts longer. Not something you absolutely need to grab from the off. The usb Ego batteries are handy too if you sit in front of a PC a lot. As for liquids well what you like I might not like and vice versa so I would start with a simple tobacco flavour, maybe get some prefilled tobacco cartridges so you can sample the basic flavour and some blanks for trying other flavours.

I think there are a few different types of tobacco liquids going these days. It's important to note that nothing out there will be exactly like the real thing:-

Sweet - sounds bad but works when the sweetness is subtle. Basic Tobacco and MarlB/Usa Mix (both variants of Marlborough depending on where you go) are examples with the Usa Mix having a very subtle sweetness. My current favorite is liberty flights Usa Mix but I like a lot of Liberty flights tobacco flavours.

Dry/Woody - These have no sweetness but a kind of dry woody or nutty flavour to them which again can be barely noticeable or strong. Hilton is an example. Some would claim it has a slight sweetness too but I don't notice it. nice flavour though. Looking at Liberty Flights again stuff like Luxury Blend, Turk & Usa Blend are lovely examples imo.

Flowery - a lot of tobacco flavours out there have a perfumey/floral flavour to them. Not my cup of tea but popular. A lot of the Enjuice/Flavour Art tobaccos fall under this bracket. I do like some of them but I tend not to risk any flavour I hear someone describe as floral.

Others - I think OkSmokey's Drum/Old Holburn flavours fall into an "almost like the real thing but not quite" bracket. Probably closest to the Dry/Woody bracket but unusual enough to get a separate mention.

I would also recommend grabbing a menthol just to try it. It can be very satisfying in terms of throat hit and flavour even if you never smoked menthol. I didn't but I like to vape some menthol from time to time.

That's great stuff. Thanks for all of that very helpful info. Gonna take the plunge with the eGo starter kit, 15ml of the Halo Freedom e-liquid, some blank carts and a 5ml sample of menthol.

    Will report back soon!

I have to say I wasn't too impressed with that Freedom stuff but everyone is different so give it a try. It's definitely of the sweet variety.

www.thebestshop.eu has now new eGo starter kits with 900mAh XL batteries in the price of regular one.
They have also Tornado for only 46e. Only bad thing with Tornado starter kit is slow charger.
My new best flavour is Flue Cured Tobacco. Is bit sweet but I love it.
IMHO for someone who smoke 10-12 cigs per day regular Joye 510 will do the job.
