We went over for the laugh after a marshall demo in musicmaker.
After 10 minutes of her gig 50% of the 40 or so people there were shouting bring back the elite!!

LOL at the Lisa Dominique story - yeah I think her brother was called Frank Marino, very twangy guitars, real 50's influence but iirc her voice was pretty poor (what little I hard of her). She used to appear in Kerrang/Metal Hammer back in the day in varying states of undress. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

PS Avril Lavigne is pop and definitely not hot. She is one annoying kid.

Years ago in London I saw an all-girl Japanese prog-metal band named Ars Nova. Their bassist was Kyoko Kanazawa, who was not only gorgeous, but played a gorgeous Rickenbacker 4001 that sounded gorgeous. Kyoko's on the left in this picture:


(Akiko, the drummer, is on the right. When I saw them, her stage clothes were a big frilly dress with masses of ribbons and bows, but she played like Animal from the Muppets, giggling while knocking seven bells out a drum kit three times her size. Not something you see every day. )

Most of these look awful no offense or anything They have a habit of either looking very similar, like washed up pop stars, like dressed down goth chicks, or just looking BLARGH. Also, too much black hair. What about like, purple and silver and awesome colours like that?

Liz Buckingham's pretty neat though.
