    I hope it is ok by mods here to create this thread. I thought it might be a nice idea for us to have a 'Best Snowman - January 2010' competition.

    If it is also ok, I would like to suggest that the four weather forum mods decide between them who the overall winner is. Maybe MT could have the deciding vote if there is a tie. The prize is simply, winner of the 'Best Snowman - The Big Freeze 2010 Part 1' competition.Let's hope this comp also will have parts, 2, 3 .....

    Closing date for entries this Friday at 12 noon.

    well...snow pics will have been taken as we have seen. Sorry. Was just trying to mark the end of the unprecedented cold spell with the idea. :(

    Does anyone have a link to the Jellytot snowman that was posted on the weather forum a couple of days ago. Someone made a tiny snowman with jellytot eyes and a ribbon as a scarf. I have searched and cant find it :(

    Here is my snow rabbit. Made in Sundays snow. :D
    Its about 8ft to the top of the ears.
    Best fun I had in ages!

    Oh, and its a peace sign!

    I built this snowman on Saturday, he's about 6 foot 10inch
    had to build him with a good base or the kids around here would knock him down
    even after all the thaw and rain in Dublin 6 there is still a pile 3 feet high of snow left.
    I want going to do some more carving on Sunday but decided not to when the thaw set in

    Snowmen built over the weekend. Frosty (on the left) started Saturday and finished when the good snow came. Ned (on the right) a delightful after thought when Frosty was completed!! :D

    He's a brave snowman. His head fell off during the thaw on Sunday, but he's still going strong. Well, strong . . . ish.
