How much is it to buy microsft word/office or is there anywhere I can download it?

Sorry to bother everyone and don't know if this thread has been done before but I'm looking to get microsoft word or office to do assignment for college. This is my last assignment and I won't use office/word again after this so don't really wanna spend a fortune on it. I had it on my computer but had harddrive replaced so lost it. I got a version (think 2007) off a frient to download but it said I needed an earlier version before I could download. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

You can download it here. They'll email you a product key that'll work for 60 days (I think).

Just make sure to save the file in word format

Can I just add that OpenOffice works 100% and I use it. However, Word and Excel are useful for my Ma and Da. Trying to explain to them that OO is the same doesn't work.
