Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

No more than they deserve to be honest

Lucas and Babel to score in extra time.

Very soft penalty, the only thing that will stop the public outcries of dive is the fact Benny did actually touch him.

No more than they deserve of course.

Ridiculous to give a penalty for something so soft at such an important moment, but very well executed Berbapenalty. Not a dive, as there was contact, but it's not as black and white as it either being a dive or a penalty.

Fully deserved though the penalty wasn't. Reading could snatch this.

The right result but we need to push on a bit and put a team away - for a change

    Dive... ugh.

Hopefully Aquilani can smash one in and send reading packing.

Babel as well, step up man!

Lads, it was a penalty. I don't support either team. Reading player gets a touch on ball and pool player clips his ankle. It was a foul and a penalty

I can't believe people are claiming it's not a penalty. Yossi kicked him on the achilles!! He didn't mean to, but he did. It's a clear peno!!!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 15,116 ✭✭✭✭RasTa

Stonewall peno on the replay there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,629 ✭✭✭magma69

Penalty was a bit harsh but Reading deserved to get a goal back anyway. Another shameful performance from Liverpool but not taking away from Reading. They put in a tremendous performance. Another nerve wracking thirty minutes lies ahead. C'mon the Pool. Give us fans something to be optimistic about ffs.

Well this is the game that has convinced me Benitez has to go. That's his team out there, his signings and his (non-existant) tactics and the lot of them together will take the club nowhere. Reading have been the better team, had the better chances and the worst thing is that I'm not surprised. The team is sleep-walking through games with no passion, belief or creativity.

It's strange that a game that they'll most likely win has been the turning point for me, especially considering some of the defeats this season.

Looks like I got one thing wrong - I was an idiot to think they'd win.

Strange that Benitez's path at Liverpools is following Houllier's so closely. Second place in their biggest league campaign, with genuine belief that their team would go on to challenge next season, only to collapse and fail to even qualify for the Champions League - which is looks like Rafa's shower will do now.

    Skrtel on for Degan :(

Oh yeah, some Royals were leaving about 15 mins before the goal. Boy they must be sick.

I'm backing Reading to do this in extra time based on the way they finished the game. Liverpool have been nothing short of dire.

jesus lads, there's being partisan and then there's being silly. It was foul in the box, and while the player may have gone down easy it was a definite foul and a definite penalty.

    Just saying.

I always condemn diving when United players do it, which unfortunately is far too often. Blight on the game.

So no need for a contest. Just balance.

Which one are you being then? There was contact but the contact was a tap, very light tap BTW in the heel, not impeding the player in any way. Definite pen??? I have seen plenty of touches like that being acknowledged by the ref and not given in the middle of the pitch let alone in the box.

Tonights was a stonewall pen, the one against birmingham was not, there is only one wrong in those two incidents

It was a peno for me.

Quick gambling question. Anytime goalscorer, does it include extra time or is it just 90 mins?
