    Hi guys,

Installed Samsung F3's in a new build which is up and running since last night, Windows 7 system rating is giving the HDD transfer speed a rating of 5.9 in the User experience setting. I was expecting better, is that kind of performance about right?

Have the HDD connected to the motherboard on the SATA_E1 port, Asus Motherboard.

Its listed as a 7200rpm model so the Windows Retardation Index will give it a 5.9 rating regardless of real-world seek and transfer rates  IIRC you can only score higher with a Raptor, higher still with an SAS drive and max it with even a slow-ass SSD - it all depends on the type of device. And yes, it shouldn't, but that's why everyone ignores the Index - its loaded with BS
