Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Alright all,

Looking at changing my car, (presently a 97 1.6 mondeo) and i've seen alot of 1.8 petrol mondeos (05/06) around at very good prices. JUst wondering what kind of mpg this model would acheive? anyone with experiences? i was initially looking at different makes with 1.5/1.6 petrol engines. I do feck all mileage (<10k) per year, so a diesel wouldnt really benefit me.

    Thanks in advance

Honestly if you are doing less than 10k miles a year then fuel economy should not be a major stumbling block. The Mondeo should average around early to mid 30s mpg but make sure and go for the Zetec model over the LX. The Zetec is a better engine with 125bhp is a world apart from the LX which only has 100bhp.
