Does anyone else think that Joe just moans about the bank bailouts? He never seems to talk about where he'll get the money needed for running the state from.

Fairly sure he meant Liam Twomey (Fine Gael, Wexford) who just got back in.

Bill Tormey didn't get elected, yet again, thankfully.

That's the results for Dr Bill's constituency..

That's the problem I have with Joe, though I like him personally.. He never has any solutions to the problems.. he just raises MORE problems..

Nah mate. I got my Twomey's and Tormey's mixed up. I thought it was last night's spacer that had been elected

Give Constantin more time ffs... he's the only one who makes sense..

Like the way Joan laughed at Vinny's assertion that Joan was "a friend of the show"... I think she's actually a nice person, aside from her views or her awkward on screen persona..

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,387 ✭✭✭✭Sardonicat

Wonder will Joan call Joa an M E penis again?

She looks a bit menacing there though....

My sentiments exactly. I had to turn off because I couldn't stand her any longer.

Constantine's fundamental understanding of the current economic crisis is so superior to all the politicians' it is frightening. Combined with Garret's diplomacy skills they would be the dream partnership to send in to the eu/IMF talks. Instead it will be Kenny, Burton et al. Lord help us.

The incoming government should get all these economists together to plan a road forward. Some of these people are in denial.

Vin B really bullied that FF girl from Dub who didn't get elected. She did her best, ran for a party on the ropes, lost, and then got blamed for all the countries woes and Vin B pressed and bullied her to say ""FF fcked up the country".

Would "our hero" push in the same way if he had Brian Lenihan, or Pat Carey, sitting accross from him? - I think not.

I'm just wondering.. I thought Dr Bill Tormey "elation" last night was either a consequence of his assumptions that he would be elected or possibly him indulging in some recreational substance as part of a celebration of assumed taking of a seat..... so the question still remains... What exactly was Bill Tormey high about/from?

    He most certainly would.

I dont think that's fair.. he pushed Mansergh and Lenihan just as hard... And if she's prepared to stand under the FF banner, then she surely has to explain why she aligns herself with their policies..

Who is this chap?, I'm always sceptical of the term 'community activist'

There's not much election results in the election special.

    Luke "Ming" Flanagan elected FWIW.

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,387 ✭✭✭✭Sardonicat

All finished here in Kerry north

Spring (Lab) and Ferris (SF) elected on 7th count

Why bother bringing Constantin in if they were gonna give him so little time? his point about the Government making all these "austerity cuts" yet having not reduced the expenditure is the core of the whole issue...

Seemed to be a conveyor belt of guests tonight, no continuity,

Only Garret the good received extended airtime.
