    Don't see the point?

You're referring to his upbringing/family environment which he has no control over.

Also, a political stand is formed in later years and you can still be posh and have left wing tendencies.....e.g Tony Benn in UK!

I was just stating a fact. Not all "posh people" are to the right of the political spectrum. So I'm agreeing with you, no?

A lot people in this country spout about socialism and dont adhere to any of it's ideals.. particularly the union leaders, who are on multiples of the average industrial wage... And Joe Duffy, dont forget him..

I would think Boyd Barrett is a champagne socialist as well.. What did he work at before being elected?

If Enda Kenny does not have a restraining order out on Marie what's her name, I think he should consider it.

There's a touch of bunny boiler about her I reckon

You didn't miss a whole lot.

Joanna Tuffy (Labour) isn't happy with Public Sector job cuts, she's been waffling since it started without saying she'll vote against the Government.

Labour dont want to fire reduce pay or wages in the public service, dont want to bring back in Education fees, dont want to reduce minimum wage, dont want to reduce social welfare....

HOW exactly are we meant to balance the books?.. oh yeah, tax the hell out of the few people still working... ALL of the above need to be back at 2000 levels, and the Government needs to be working towards that.

Sounds like she joined the wrong party, ULA might suit her better.

The woman on the left is Brenda something from CMC Markets, Joanne Tuffy (Labour), Shane Coleman (Correspondent) and I don't know the other guys name.

Hope that clears up all your questions about the panel :)

Well something definitely damaged Labour in the weeks before the election.. And I'm sure that her performance, though Vincent tries to play down it's significance, DID damage Labour... Having one of your senior party members (who has aspirations of being Minster For Finance) have a meltdown, is obviously not gonna be good for the party..

shur remember, the Twitter machine was in sixth gear..

It would be pretty hard to survive on the scratch at 2000 levels jon. Bare in mind that to qualify for the "extras" all sortsd of contingencies need to be met. There are a hell of a lot of people "living" in the minimum payment right now, trying to pay rent , bills etc on 188 a week.

And as for the labour activation programme: a few weeks ago i had my interview with the bloke down the labour re this. All he had was a paper with a list of namess and pps numbers on it, no computer records.

Was asked what was my level of education (post-grad) and was then asked if i had done my leaving and did i need any literacy supports! There was no communication between them and Fás. Was told that people like me (educated) were not getting jobs becuase employers would assume we would leave (and he said he didnt blame the employers). My best bet, apparently, is to do a CE scheme, or feck off abroad.

It's not in his interest to talk about it.

Joan Burton went on the show and had a nightmare,

Enda Kenny ducked out of it and won the Election,

The penny will drop soon that there is more to be lost than gained by going head to head with Vincent Browne.

I'm going to let you in on a dirty little secret, FG aren't actually a low tax party. They want to raise 2.7bn in taxes and labour want(ed) to raise 2.9bn. I imagine they have met somewhere in the middle, 2.8 sounds good. So does the 0.1 really constitute taxing the hell out of people versus reasonable tax raises?

    Schmoozer.:p

I'm afraid I'm no Cassie. Plus, if Vlad is appearing he'd have me taken outside and shot for being a waste of space.

Edit: check out the scary post number

Joanna Tuffy's has gone very quiet. I wonder if this is all Greek to her?
