We haven't learnt anything new from this discussion on the bonds, it's all old arguments rehashed.

Coleman saying that the ECB should have stepped in and stopped us!!! Biffo and Bertie would have probably ignored them in any case....

Bertie would've told them to go and commit suicide.

Not much competition for him, ever time she gets nervious she swings that damn chair and has her hand stuck to her chin. Back bencher material.

    That would be good.

Or press the lever and suddenly drop down a few inches...

She has something of the schoolgirl about her, doesn't she? The earnst head girl, captain of the debating team.

I dont know why I bother listening to this show any more... Depressing as hell...

Can someone explain to me why Social Protection (welfare)* is considered so unimportant. I would think that at a time like this it is one of the most fundemental portfolios there is.

I dislike like this "protection" business.

Leo was appointed on a "keep your freinds close and your enemies closer" basis, imo.

Tuffy's really a lightweight - put her foot in it there a few mins ago on the bailout vote.

lol... It's the same as liveline, I know it wont do my mental state any good by tuning in .. but I just cant help myself...

Just on Sardy's point about the assignment of Ministers due to location... This is awful but the two most ridiculous things I see about the Dáil that should have been reformed are...
    - Ceann Comhairle... the previous one is automatically elected, yet they assign the role to a new person on the first day of the new Dáil... And Ceann Comhairle should be a civil servant not a TD ANYWAY.... ridiculous.. plus it gave FF an extra seat they would never have got..
    - independents, though elected as TDs, do not have the same speaking rights as those in parties.. ridiculous..

Reflects the amount of teacher td's in general though. Teachers and publicans, the people who have the free time to campaign are the ones who get elected.

Has anything changed? No decrease in Senior or Junior Ministers, public sector and teachers leading the way yet again.

Vincent is the most depressing programme on the air, so I figure that if I can survive Vinny then everything else doesn't seem so bad!biggrin.gif

I'm not convinced that the Junior Ministers do anything worthwhile which Civil Servants couldn't do.

All the policy decisions are made by the Senior Ministers.

It's all about consolation prizes and getting re-elected next time out.
