lucinda has performed awfully, like a rabbit caught in the headlights, in alliance with dooley of all people and caught in a lie to boot - wasn't she supposed to be a bright young thing, great white hope, shining new superlady?
No Lucinda's main talents lie in posing for photos in the front page of the Sindo and taking potshots at her own party.
But hey we need more women in the Dáil and all that............

She made a right ass of herself tonight ,came across as a very condescending and ignorant woman.
According to her bio she is only 31,she looks at least 40.

Looking up to heaven I half expect her to turn to VB and say "Don't you talk to me like that, who do you think you are, I am now a minister for state for European Affair, if you think we have no friends in Europe what till I am finished."

A discussion on the role of the church in Ireland...Yeck! Probably one
of the most over done discussions in the country.

    Hoho, this could be good.

I doubt it, to be honest.

I prefer the discussions on the economy, people like lucinda are basically justifying their own existence by being "good europeans" and serving the investor elites first rather than the Irish people who elected them

this debate on the church is dull - there is no real debate, we all agree sexual abuse is bad, where else can we go with this debate? yawn

true there won't be any fireworks but its good that the show isn't a one trick pony at the same time, perhaps its a throwback to vinnie's print days.

I spoke too soon, codology, codology! says vincenzo.

The Pope was largely ignored in the UK because the church run very few schools there, and there wasn't a systematic cover up over child abuse.

If he shows his face here I'll be at the front of the protests about how Rome has done nothing about the shameful actions of their clergy.

I agree, but I feel that it is important to acknowledge that these acts were perpetrated by some members of the clergy. There are some very descent priests out there who make a positive contribution to their communities.

I agree a five year term would be better, seven years is way too long and no one should have two terms.
