I'd be afraid to be a patient of that doctor! He is a headcase (allegedly)

Margaret E Ward has a bit of jizz in her.

  • Registered Users Posts: 19,585 ✭✭✭✭Lady Chatterton

She is very pretty and is definitely the best looking one on the panel - on a night like tonight that wouldn't be too hard though.

Skid - now would be a good time to tell me about Quick Silver. Tonight's programme is sh1te!

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,630 ✭✭✭Koloman

I thought the point of this Friday show was that it was to be more light-hearted.

It's just like a normal Vinny show.

Bring back Jedward or even Twink & Linda Martin.

Really? Well, seeing as you asked ...

Bunny Carr presented it, a quiz show that went around the country on tour.

you could win big money, but my Dad remembers one contestant winning 'thruppence' on it. (3 old pence!)

Stop the lights was the catchphrase,

You had to guess a cryptic clue or something. Norman Metcalfe used to play piano and give a musical clue

All the clips on youtube seem to have been removed

Actually, to be honest, i was very small when it was on TV, it's all a bit hazy!

Edit: It finished in 1975 so apparently I wasn't born when it was on??? Weird.

Completely agree with Vincent here. Middle class whingers.
If we'd put resources into where it should have been put when we had it we wouldn't still have a significant percentage of the population still living in poverty. Inequality as at the root of too many problems in this country.

Loved Vinnie's remark "maybe we'll get this guy to shut up" :D

Thanks for that Skid! I don't remember that programme at all. When was it on TV. (I was born in the late 70's) I remember Blankety Blank and Murphy's Micro Quiz though!

It's where the phrase "STOP THE LIGHTS" originated.

Apparently it finished in 1975 (before I was born) so I'm confused about how I remember it, to be honest.

And I think you'll find it was 'Murphys Micro Quiz - M' , never forget the 'M'!

There was a vox pop on RTE today or yesterday from Derry, it just underlined for me that the people who waffle, complain & posture on TV are totally divorced from an awful lot of real life....the 'real life' that frequently sets the news agenda.

Well that was a poor show tonight. And Dr. Bill didn't even lose the plot. I am disappoint :(

Jools Holland is still on BBC2 if anyone's looking for post-post-LLS entertainment.

it wasn't all bad, margaret e ward is pretty although she possibly works too hard and looks tired around the eyes

i am curious to know what age she is, it's against my policy to go for ladies over the age of 40, hoping she's under 40 as I'm a man of my word

1975 was before my time. It is nice to be too young to remember something :) it doesn't happen to me much anymore :(

I do remember the whole family watching Murphy's Micro Quiz M every Sunday night, followed by Glenroe. My brother and I used to practice on our Commodore 64 and we would fight over who would be better to represent the family on the computer game round. :D:D Ah, what great memories !!!

Good luck with that Mrs...it was ALWAYS the boy who got to play the computer game round. The girls had to do the needlework round or such.

Loved that show. What a blast from the past. :)

Is this the opening music, I vaguely remember it. Tonight should rob it for theirs, Tonight needs a dynamic opening piece of music, instead of the free liabary stuff it currently has.

Vincent looked like he was sick of it too. Never seen him look as grumpy as he did as they went for the break

That guy is trying to hoover up the teachers vote. I thought they were overpaid by EU standards?
