yeah, i noticed that Elaine Byrne is on it, and I was impressed when I saw Jane Suiter speak at a forum on political reform before the election.

I'm no fan of Atlantic Philantropies but don't know why Vincent has such a bee in his bonnet about we the people. Increasing active citizenship would be a great achievement imo. Even uber red Fintan O'Toole has been banging that drum for a while now.

Where's the actual evidence for that? They are mainly here due to our educated, English-speaking work-force, i'd contend. A small rise in corporation tax will make no difference.
This corporation-tax thing is a canard and we'll be forced to change it anyway; even if by stealth.
It's irrelevant in the face of the damage being done to our economy by acceptance of the 'bail-out'; this is what will, ultimately, lead to Google, et al, high-tailing it out of here.

God I hate Sheehan. For some reason he instantly personally attacks other participants.
I don't know why he does it but anyone who doesn't bow to him in awe obviously has nothing valuable to say.
Does he not realise that he works for a tabloid and just because it doesn't have a red top does not mean it isn't full of hyperbolic bull.

As for Vinny - really showed himself up as a buffoon last night.
Chuck Feeney is not some right wing secret society type guy. He has been very good for Ireland for a hell of a long time and personally made UCL what it is today.

I was going to say it was a waste of an episode, but no, it helped reaffirm my dislike for Sheehan and again demonstrated Browne to be a champagne socialist.

Not sure why Sheehan can take the chair and ask questions of other contributors. I cant stand Keiran Allen and his politics but I do think that he shut Sheehan up good and proper about the corporation tax rate (he did answer - 12.5% effective) and tax on global earnings for Irish citizens.

Think Vincent's thunder was stolen when Mary Murphy revealed that her group was getting funding from Atlantic philantrophies also. Didnt see the badgering then.
