I often go online with my Playstation 3 and want to get a wireless modem. But what type of modem should i get if i want to use the connection for online gaming. Also im kinda on a budget so id like to stick around the €50 mark.

P.S. Here are two internet readings i took quickly at a busy and quiet time for my internet.

    Busy: Ping=351 Download=.57mb/s Upload=.10mb/s

    Quiet: Ping=52 Download=.98mb/s Upload=.89mb/s

Any type of router will do fine, pref one that gives you a option to put your router in the DMZ so your NAT type is set to open and not being blocked.

All the ISP routers such as eircom(netopia) and BT(voyagers) routers have this built into them.

I'm still using my linksys wrt54Gs router and have been for the past four years on my PS3 and Xbox can't fault it, nor my belking N series router.

If your ping sucks with a wired connection its more than likely down to your isp side or the filters on your lines suck swap them out for new filters.

I'm thinking of getting one of these routers but don't know what any of the letters and numbers mean. If someone could take a peek and tell me if its ok for online gaming i'd really appreciate it.

Wireless G is 54 Mbps wireless networking standard
Wireless B is a 11Mbps wireless networking standard

Both of those routers operate at either wireless B or G a PS3 wireless nic is a 802.11b/g nic meaning it works on the older wireless B routers and the newer G.
Both of those are fine for any type of gaming just make sure you put the ps3 in the dmz as stated earlier so all the ports needed are open to your PS3.

Here's a guide on how to do it tons on the web its a simple thing to do shouldn't take more than a couple of minutes to do.
