Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

My brother is going statesides next week and wants to buy a camera to replace his sony cybershot. his main complaint is that its old but more importantly, the dark pictures it takes indoors.

can anyone PLEASE rec a camera that he could look out for ?
he said he doesnt mind spending a few hundred on one.
and should he buy a SLR type camera ?

    any advice will be grateful

i recently got my first slr from boston, in wallmart. after converting $ to € and adding on the usa equivelent of vat, it cost 450 in total. it was 979 here. this was for a nikon D5000, a D3000 would be cheaper again. if he is getting it stateside, well, if i had the option to do it over again, i'd still do what i did :)
