Can anybody recommend someone to do an ERC cert ? preferably someone who wont cost the earth (..and will give my house a fair rating)

You can do a search here for someone in the area who'll do a BER rating.

There info on a Bargain Alerts thread on the free energy survey offered by the ESB right now.They don't provide you with a BER cert but it's supposed to give you lots of advice and go through your house with a fine tooth comb.Again though the operative word is FREE .It might be of some use to you.
