As the heading suggests i'm looking for 21ft Oak beams 10inx6in.

Have found only 1 sawmill that has them.

Eurosalve have them but only in 20ft. Could do with an extra foot.

Looking for a few more to compare prices.

    Have checked:

    McMahons
    Lisnavagh
    Mangans
Grainger - Wont sell to anyone other than a business???
    Currans

    Any help would be appreciated.

There is a specialist joiner in Ardmore in County Waterford who may be able to help you out, I was in his workshop before and he had big beams there.

I doubt he'd have them to be honest. Have rang about 10 or more sawmills so far and only 1 of them had beams more than 16ft.

Would need to buy direct from a sawmills.

This guy buys in old salvaged beams and timbers from the UK to cut up and reuse in other pieces.
It's up to you OP, for the price of a call.......

That reminds me - there's an architectural salvage place on Bleach Road in Kilkenny City where I got salvaged oak floor boards about 8 years ago. Like gman's guy, he got salvaged beams from the UK, then cut them down into boards. If he's still there, he might be able to help you.

Got them in Mayo in West swmills in Larch timber. Just sanding them at the moment. Nice grain in them. The salvage palce in Kilkenny was too dear.

Do the beams have to be oak? 21ft is approaching the limit on what you'll find in any type of timber, but you will have better luck with a softwood. Either way, I think its a waste of an aged, slow going tree to use it as a structural beam unless its salvage, especially when you can use a softwood or find something reclaimed.

It ages really well too, it draws a silver/grey after a few years untreated.
