Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi folks,

I'm typing this on a mac but have a problem with a laptop I own. Last night it crashed whilst plying iTunes - no big deal I though until the following message came up when i restarted it - "Operating System not found"

I have some documents on this laptop that I really want back(I honestly don't care about the laptop, just the docs). Any ideas? The laptop is a Fujitsu Siemens and about 5 years old.

And please spare me the "you should have backed it up" lecture - believe me, I couldn't feel any worse today than I do.

    Any help greatly appreciated.

Where are you based as then we can advise you better.

That error can be for a multitude of reasons so don't panic, the worst would be the drive has died completely which means going down the data recoevery route but most of the time its an (relatively) easy fix.

Dublin. Cheers, was seriously panicking there.

I looked on the web and found a computer doctor in Coolock - do you know if they're worth a look?

I think there is a computer doctor on the Malahide Road just before Fairview. Whats the story with your warranty?

As it's 5 years or so old I don't think it would still be valid.

Just for future reference Google docs is very handy tool to have for documents as they save various versions of document (ie revision history) and its online all the time. good luck anyway with that. Very annoying when that happens.

I wouldn't sweat mate. This is most likely a very quick fix by someone who knows what they are doing.

Has the computer been acting sluggish or crashing lately? If not I doubt that the drive is dead.

    Best of luck.
