Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Need someone with an i5/i7 processor willing to help upgrade BIOS

It's a long shot I know, but I figured I'd try it anyway...

Okay. Here's the story, I just got delivery of a lovely new MSI P55m-GD45 motherboard for use in a new HTPC I'm building. The problem is I took a bit of a chance with the motherboard when I was buying it in that I got an i3 processor to go with it even though I knew there was a chance the board might not have the right BIOS to support the i3 chip. Well it turns out my gamble didn't pay off and the PC won't boot :(

I could send it back under the 10 day cooling off period and replace it with a board that I know works, but the only one that I know works doesn't have as many ports and instead has onboard graphics taking up space which I won't use, and therefore don't want to have. My preference is to try and get the BIOS flashed to one that I can use.

Which brings me to the great people of Boards.ie. in a moment of delirium at about 1am last night I had an idea that maybe there was somebody in this great country of Ireland who would be willing to put their i5/i7 chip into my motherboard for a few minutes while I flashed the bios to something I could use? The reward would be many many thanks, a karmic increase that could see one returning as an earthworm instead of a ringworm in the next life, and the eternal gratitude of one boardster.

I'm willing to drive of course, and I'm based in Newbridge, so I'd be hoping someone in Dublin or Kildare regions might be willing to help out here, but I'd consider going further afield if necessary.
