Are there any packages of icons and graphics/images that are available either for free or at quite a low cost that can be used for adding to presentations, images and things like that?

I guess what I'm looking for is basically similar to the ClipArt collection that comes with Office, just on a much broader range of icons/graphics and maybe also including some cool shapes etc. for using to layout or style a presentation. Appreciate any pointers.

istockphoto.com has lots of good cheap icons & photos.
You buy 'credits' and then get packs of icons/graphics that vary depending on detail and quality.

I highly recommend it. It's leagues ahead of clipart stuff.

Thanks for that p - that is one top quality site! The images are really high quality, though it's not all that cheap I guess it is in relative terms to what you could pay for such quality work.

    I found a site with a 20% off voucher: http://www.istockphoto.com/toonboom-offer

Good as istockphoto is, it's a little more top-end than I need for the bulk of the stuff I'm looking for: I could see myself using it for photos in specific cases (and I've bought and used some credit already), but what I was hoping to find was a broader collection of graphics and icons that might be available for free or maybe under €50 for a bulk purchase (istockphoto was working out at around €15 for one set of maybe 20 icons).

There's a great one with pngs of all Facebook's icons. Had a look for the link for you but can't find it :(

Free and it has a huge range of photographs and graphics. You have to register but it doesn't take long at all.

+1 to this but just be a little careful and read the licence detail of each image that you plan on using. If its standard licence then bobs your uncle and you've little to worry about but i've used it fairly extensively over the last few weeks and I was surprised the number of standard licence plus x,y, or z limitations that were on it. Obviously respect the wishes of the image owner.

The licence is under each image when you are viewing it in normal view ie. not the thumbnail view.
