Listening to dublin airport control tower

    Hi looking for some of your knowledge/info:)
    I like to listen to the air-band on my yupiteru MVT 7100 was wondering how far away from Dublin airport i can get to hear the control tower is it possible with the right antenna i can get it from my house which is 29 miles as the crow flies from control tower no mountains or anything in the way:D if so what kind of antenna would be required? Thanks

    there should be no problem in receving the tower its a relatively small distance as the crow files, most people would recommend a discone which is an ok all rounder however i reckon a dedicated antenna cant be beaten so i would recommend an airband vertical

    there are several places just to add to ones mentioned above you have long communiciations www.longcom.ie also south east communications www.sec.ie and jim bob www.miojbt.com check out all the above and shop around you will amazed at the differences on prices try for a combined deal on cable connectors etc.. also ebay uk can be the cheapest

    can the casper site be set up for ireland i cant figure it out:confused:

    No, I don't think it can. But this similar site is based on google maps and covers a much bigger part of the european (and even american) airspace: http://www.radarvirtuel.com
