Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Dublin 1961

This is pretty sweet, was linked to it today. Might be of interest to some here.

Apoligies if already posted, I glance in here only once a day usually just lurking so I may have missed it.

Nice picture of Nelson Pillar, about 5 years before it got blown up. Would've been great if something like that was built in todays times, instead of the monstrosity that is the Spike.

Ugh, don't get me started. That spire will symbolise the thorn in the side of the Irish people that was Fianna Fail for the remainder of its days.

Can't agree there. I think the Spire filled the gap nicely, and still does. O'Connell St didn't need another stone monument in my opinion.

It looks like very little has changed, less neon signs and funky lights and obviously less traffic. I love the old buses, they should still have them on the roads today :)

Love the pics - love to see places look very similiar as today but different vehicles etc.

Personally, love the Spire, modern, clean and different to all the other historical statues already dotted all over the place but I do realise it has become 'cool' to hate it.

Nice collection, conveyed the 60s very well , except the young lad on the bicycle , middle of the frame (third last picture), obviously stuck on a mobile phone, ah well, some things never change ;)
