Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hello. I want to apply for a provisional for A cat. It says on the Theory test website that i have to buy their book to prepare for the test ( the official driver theory test book) but its a bit expensive for me (18e). I was wondering, is it really necessary to buy that book or can i study for the exam from the Rules of the Road book? Many thanks

I want to apply for a provisional for A cat.

    You don't need a licence for a cat :)

Not everything in the test would be in ROTR. There's several copies of the theory test book for sale on adverts.ie.

    Scrap the cap!

ok firstly you do need to take your theory test to be able to drive a motorbike and or moped in ireland

secondly the book will only cost you 7.99euro its the CD which will cost you 18.07euro

and yes you need to get one or the other cause tis the only way to see the questions you will be asked, i know its steap but maybe if you ask mates etc they might have one of the CD's or books at home cause each and everyone covers all license type whether it is car, motorbike , bus etc

someone you know should have one so just ask around

Yes, Category A is for bikes. And incidentally they're now called learner permits, not provisional licences.

I was just making a little joke :o (cat, as in the animal which is not a dog, you are supposed to have a dog licence to own a dog...)

Here's a cat that is for motorbikes all right :pac:
