Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Liverpool could do with a defender like Shawcross loves to header the ball and boss around the back line

fuking retarded decision by the ref, how can he book him if he isn't sure, and he couldn't have been sure (considering he was completely wrong)

It has been an incredibly dull and lifeless game thus far.

Looks like i'm the only one with the ref on that one, but i don't want to start anything,

    carry on watching :D

Yes of our worst season in years that says alot. On Lucas he has improved but people talking up Ngog just shows how poor we are at the moment. Look back at his goals, some of them have been while we are already well up and others have been tap ins alot of them which he nearly missed.

Sorry if I dont mind saying MY oppinion on players. This forum sometimes

Ah right so because its your opinion its not allowed to be challenged.

He has got 6 goals this season, im not going to check but how many have Stevie, Kuyt, Babel, Riera etc got?

Chances of a second yellow for Lucas and mass outrage?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,109 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

lucas having a fukin great game.

Shocking refereeing. As clear a peno as you're bound to see, but instead books Lucas for diving!!!

I think this ref has it in for us this season

In the replay it looked like Lucas was on his way down before the challenge

    close to 100%

For fecks sake that was not even a hard decision it was an obvious 100% peno.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,516 ✭✭✭Hoki

Ngog is gonna have to improve his first touch , the ball is coming back far to often from his mis-control

wouldn't be at all surprised, Mason has shown in the past that he likes to make the 'controversial' decisions against the big clubs. Lucas will have to be really careful for the whole game now, Mason will be waiting for the chance to send him off.

Top players are always a split second ahead of the action.

    Yeah well done indeed,

If you want to hear what i saw, i saw him going down before the Challenge took him, If he had have stayed on his feet and at least tried to keep going maybe it would have warranted a penalty.

Im tempted to put a tenner on lucas to score first

    20/1

    just have that feeling

    Kuyt taught him that.

Lucas was no longer in control of the ball so i can see why it might not be given... but to book him was madness.

What's the story with Faye? Had a knock to begin with?

    No, on the bench though

Seemed to me like Lucas was going down no matter what. If it takes a few harsh bookings like that to encourage players to stay on their feet in the box then so be it.

Was watching that Inter Milan Football Idol yoke last night and the coach actually had a go at one of the young lads for not going down in the box. Also had a massive LOL at Jamie Redknapp saying "English players don't go down." Think his trousers were on too tight and squeezing his brains a little too hard.:pac:

What a f*cking awful awful match btw. No one on the pitch wants to play football.

We had this argument a few weeks ago when we were denied a clear penalty , control of the ball is irrelevant.

Lawerence is a quality player - just on and he's a busy bastard.. Popping up everywhere. Impressive since he's not even fully fit.

Lawerence > the entire Liverpool team

'Control of the ball' may not be explicitly written into the rules, but I'm pretty sure the rules of the game give the referee the discretion to make that choice. That was my understanding at least.

is aggar injured?? i thought i saw a team shet with him on it from the first page of this thread

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,988 ✭✭✭doc_17

if a player makes a tackle, doesn't get the ball, takes the man. Its a pen, control of the ball is irrelevant.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 27,349 ✭✭✭✭super_furry

Lucas was fouled in the box, it should have been a penalty - simple as that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,910 ✭✭✭✭whatawaster

you know, all things considered, it's been a decent first half

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 31,950 ✭✭✭✭Mars Bar

I can't believe that some people thought that was a penalty!

He didn't take Lucas, Lucas landed on him when he decided half a second early that he was going to go down anyway!

How could he stay on his feet with a player flying in from the side!
