Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Barca - Sevilla: Its really a case of as you were midweek for these two with Valdes the only likely player to return. Neither side has any new injuries. Fabiano started ballwork on thursday though is not expected to feature. Real Madrid meanwhile will be without the injured Higuain for the next 3 weeks with Van Der Vaart joining him on the treatment table. Benzema seems likely to replace the injured Higuain with Raul set to continue on the bench.

Messi's hat-trick against Tenerife last weekend has left him just one goal short of joining the exclusive 100 goals club for Barca. Barca’s elimination by Seville on Wednesday night was the first time the team had been knocked out of a cup competition since April 2008, when they went down at Old Trafford to Manchester United.

First real tackle of the game and ref dishes out a yellow.

Commentator jut added this chap averaged seven yellows a game with thirteen reds last season

Good game this. Could easily be 2-2. Good thing the commetators are telling us over and again Atletic signing policy. We may forget otherwise.

Real are very dangerous at the restart. If they score in the opening 5 of the 2nd, they will romp home, if it goes betyong 55 without them scoring, I can see them getting very frustrated.

Aye and are they are getting it wrong anyway cause now Athleti sign players who are not Basque once they have learned there trade in the Basque country. It has been a top game thus far.

I would honest to god have Raul in ahead of him.

The guy has been given the cold shoulder.

    23 goals in 07/08 and 24 goals in 08/09.

Not just that but the psychological lift he gives the team is immense.

We are seeing the final days of a true legend.

    Sevilla lineup:
PALOP; STANKEVICIUS, ESCUDÉ, DRAGUTINOVIC, FERNANDO NAVARRO; LOLO, MARC VALIENTE; KONKO, JOSÉ CARLOS, JESÚS NAVAS; KONÉ

Well if you've only been watching him this season you wouldn't have seen much, he hasn't had any sort of a run in the team. I've watched him his whole career and he is quality.

As someone else intimated, if you were to only judge Kaka on this season, you'd think he's nothing special. But he really really is.

It's all Real Madrid, but the delivery has been terrible.

Pushing very foward, could be vulnerable on the break.

benzema came from a second rate league(harsh but true)

kaka came from one of the best leagues in the world and performed unreal there, won numerous awards etc etc

5 minutes for Real to save this.

Unfortunately, and realistically, Italy is also a second rate league. In fact, when you look how Bordeaux easily topped there CL group this year, group with Bayern and Juvetus, you could make all kinds of assumptions.

He's scored plenty of CL goals including against Manchester United and against AC Milan this season.

5 mins injury, what a joke!

Madrid keep trying to go through the middle and it ain't working.

Ronaldo in the book but for what!

8 yellows dished out the ref has lived up to his rep!

    Terrible performance Real.

    Real founder.

This result could prove to be a defining moment in the season for Real if Barca carry on doing what they do.

There is no shame in getting beat at San Mamés.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 21,296 ✭✭✭✭gimmick

Come on Barca. Tonight could be a huge stage of the season.

Thought Atletic were full value for those 3 points.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,563 ✭✭✭kinaldo

Madrid reeeeaaaaaly should have won that.

    Come on Sevilla!

    Terrible miss indeed.

He usually has a bit of stubble though, sorta like a worn tennis ball.

Henry appealing for a handball, nice little irony.

No goals this season but I'll tell you something - Iniesta on form can dance past players better than Messi and thats not a word of a lie.

His close ball control is the best I have ever seen.

It's his balance aswell. He's just so comfortable with the ball at his feet. He actually reminds me of Zidane the way he moves.

Is it just me or is Kluivert a poor pundit ?

When he talks he sounds confused and when Bolton talks with the camera on the 3 he is either looking up at the roof or in the total other direction. Seems like he aint very interested to be fair.

Consistent with his career after Ajax so.
