Picks the ball up around centre circle runs un challenged til the edge of the Sunderland box where he feints by a little challenge and slots it into the far corner.

Not Sunderland's day. Their midfield is shockingly bad, not bothering to close down at all. Bent and Jones having some limited joy against Chelsea's defense, but not getting any support. This could be a thrashing.

Ashley Cole, 3 - 0. This is turning into a joke.

edit: Fantastic ball behind the defence by Terry to find the run of Cole. Cana at fault again though. Lunges into the tackle which Cole easily doges to slot it past the keeper into the far post.

It's the midfield. They just aren't doing a thing, nobody is bothering to mark or even make an effort to close Chelsea down. A massive gap has developed between Sunderland's defence and it's attack and Malouda and Lampard are having a field day in the hole in front of the CBs. This is aggravated by Cana making some particularly bad decisions though. He looks very nervous and doesn't seem to know when to tackle or when to stand off.

Holy Christ. Sunderland could find themselves back in the thick of the relegation battle on the evidence of this. I know they are missing a few but the sheer lack of any determination from anyone in their side is really worrying. If the sh*t gets tough this looks like a side that's going to go down. Let's hope they can put an end to this dismal run sooner rather than later.

Anyone think Bruce looks like a man preparing for a fight? The tense yet unfidgety posture, the clenched teeth, the determination in his eyes, he's going to give his boys some throttling at half time. Really wish there were camera's allowed in the dressing room to see what happens

Ashley Cole's goal was fantastic. Malouda's too. Its been way to easy for Chelsea. What is it about Sunderland? They just seem to fall apart when they play Chelsea.

Just seen the score in this, my plan was to watch the first half of United and second half of Chelsea games. It usually goes that way with Chelsea the second half team and United a first half team. No use watching it now, its all over, great performance without Essien and Drogba.

Could not agree more with the subs he has made!

glad to keep the front 7 together for a while more so they can continue to gel in this formation
