Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Looking at a laguna 1.5 dci for low tax and insurance.

Haven't been able to test drive yet.

Will the engine struggle with such a big car?

    What to watch out for?

I beleive the new ones are much better put together than the old ones.

Those 1.5 diesel engines are a work of art from Renault, couldn't believe the response from such a small engine.

Economically, I seem to remember getting about 700kms out of a full tank, mixed city centre driving and motorway.

Its a super engine and fine in the Laguna unless you travel fully loaded for great distances, even then though it will cruise quietly all day. The new Lagunas also have a good reputation for reliability, far better then the previous car. Only downside is it is cramped in the back with no footroom under the front seats, fine for kids, not so much adults.

Don't they come in both 85bhp and 106bhp?
If it was me, I'd go for the latter. Although, the 85bhp was still ok in the Megane I drove, I'd rather have the 106bhp in a Laguna

Looking at the web they are all 110 in the laguna. So should have the guts must get a test drive.

Only the Megane came with the option of the less powerful 86bhp version.
