Quality of Service on Eircom BB

    Hi all...

    Anyone else having similar problems as I am. I have an Eircom 3 Mb connection. In the past 2-3 months the 'Quality of Service' as measured by irishspeedtest.com is waaay down.

    It's around the 20% mark. In the past it was up in the 90's. Now I can't watch even a 2 minute youtube.com without it having to buffer a few times. It's really annoying.

    I use a wireless modem and had been using it for 2 yrs with no problems. I've been onto Eircom help and they've tested the line and said nothing is wrong with it. I've no other devices connected (such as SKY, alarm systems) and I've tried connecting it directly via the ethernet but no improvement.

    Any suggestions ?

    Could it be something to do with the contention ratio ? Am getting hacked off paying $'s to Eircom for a crappy service. Unfortunately I'm not in an area that has many other options otherwise I would have dropped them long ago...
