Can't imagine Vince will be too happy to hear about Dwayne promoting the 'other companies' Heavyweight Champion.

He wouldn't even let Punk escort Chael Sonnen to the ring for one of his fights and that wasn't even the same sport.

Didnt Punk say he was never confirmed for that and it was simply something that had been discussed? I dont think Vince just decided no, you're not doing that.

As for Dwanye and Bobby, the cynical side of me thinks it may be WWE approved to let Bobby know that people in WWE think he's doing great so that when his contract comes up, he might be willing to jump ship.

Considering the amount of back acne Chael had that nite its probably best Punk didn't acompany him. Sonnen ain't straight edge thats for damn sure.

WWE should've struck a deal with TNA to bring in Calves and Abs to face Rock and Cena at Survivor Series instead of Miz and Truth.:)

Ring Ka King apparently got over 14 MILLION viewers.... I'd love to know what WWE and Impact get over there.

that is out of a 1.2bn population though

Its not that bit where he says hes nothing against us is it?

Doesnt take away from it really. Im not an expert on Indea but from the outside it looks like an awful lot of the country are in poor living conditions. 1.2bn skews that a little as a result, how many of them have access to a TV? Using that number would be a fairer assesment imo.

Either way, I doubt WWE or Impact would get anywhere close to that number.

TNA having the business acumen to tap India as a new source of revenue is nothing short of genius. Having their own wrestling promotion IN India with US wrestlers and their own is a fantastic idea. I think they'll do great. I've been in India -when Khali was champion no less- and the WWE shows/ads/fan reactions were all about him.

It'd also be better to see where they are ~8 episodes down the line, so their audience stabilizes. The XFL got a 9.5 rating their first match :)

AND TNA getting Endemol as a partner instead of say Bischoff-Harvey Productions.

Hopefully this wont be a fad like Wrestling in Italy was in the mid to 00s.

Is that how bret met his ex-wife? If so then it wasn't a total bust hiyooooooo!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,888 ✭✭✭Charisteas

Dunno about Bret's wife, but pretty sure that The Ultimate Warrior beat Orlando Jordan for their WHC and he still hasn't defended his title 5 years later.

Didn't Rikishi own one of those Italian prmotions? Remember seeing it on the Wrestling Channel a few years ago.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,888 ✭✭✭Charisteas

Yeah I think Barcelona, but i'm sure it was an Italian promotion.

I like to think I know my Orlando Jordan trivia!

Yep. She was an obsessive fan who met him at an autograph signing. Who also went to one of his signings in early 90s as a child.

    It was.

He did along with Mafia types.

The Italian boom was first. Smackdown aired in Italy was really big and was then taken off air. So they viewed ex-WWErs as stars. The first tour drew huge. Then they started putting Cena and Mysterio on posters didnt deliver and killed off interest. Then they moved to Spain.

Above all else, that promo by Magnus was just great last night (even if it was a complete face promo (which was entirely understandable given the circumstances)). The man is a star.

Agreed, next to Storm, Roode and Daniels. Magnus is one my favorite TNA wrestlers. He's only 26 as well, so he's quite young. Hogan should have called him the future of TNA and not Bischoff's son.

Breaking Exclusive: TNA Makes Major Creative Team Change
by Nick Paglino February 12, 2012

According to several TNA sources, Vince Russo is no longer a part of the TNA creative team, and former WWE creative team member Dave Lagana is now the new head of TNA creative. The previous head of creative had been Bruce Prichard, who as far as we have been told is still working with TNA.

Dave Lagana had formerly been working with TNA on the new Ring Ka King promotion in India. More on this developing story as it becomes available.

    The king is dead

If it ends up being confirmed here's a picture of me with the man himself to mark the occasion (I bet my brother that if we ran into Vince Russo during BFG Weekend I'd take a picture with him with a nice cheesy grin and 20 seconds later we turned the corner and there he was, terrible Batman tattoo and all):
