I wonder would they consider the One Night Only PPV's as iPPV's? It would be cheaper to do and they could sell it at a lower rate, likely resulting in a higher than normal buyrate for that month.

I also wonder what will happen with the X-Division title holder. They made a big point of how the holder could trade it for a shot at the World title at Destination X, which no longer exists now. Do it at a different event, or forget all about it?

Or maybe make it available to rent on YouTube like their other content. They might use option C on an iMPACT! during the summer instead.

Be interesting to see if the structure of their TV will change with no monthly PPV to build angles to at the end of each month.

Can't see many people paying to watch the other pre-recorded specials though.I'd say they exist only to fulfil contractual obligations to the PPV carriers and overseas TV deals.

They'll be priced at $15 which is reasonable enough (considering they won't be too much different from regular PPV's).

As noted earlier on PWInsider.com, TNA will be doing a series of taped "One Night Only" PPV events airing the first Friday night of months they are not broadcasting live PPV events.

PWInsider.com has confirmed with multiple sources the themes for the taped PPVs will be....

TNA X-Travaganza, featuring the stars of the X-Division (airing in April, taping 1/13).

TNA Joker's Wild Tag Team Special, featuring enemies teaming and a Battle Royal final (airing in May, taping 1/13)

TNA Hardcore Justice 2 - ECW reunion style "hardcore" show.

TNA "10 Reunion" - Stars from the early days of TNA battling inside a Six-Sided ring.

TNA Knockouts Knockdown - One night Knockout tournament with the first round being all stipulation matches and the final four in a "test of their stamina" to see who the final victor is.

TNA International Incident - One night tournament featuring talent from " United States, India, Mexico, Ireland, Canada, Germany, Japan & the UK" with the winner earning a TNA title shot.

TNA X-Division World Cup Tournament - four teams of X-Division wrestlers in a one night tournament featuring singles, tag, six man and eight man tag bouts.

TNA World Cup of Wrestling - Four teams, each captained by a TNA wrestler featuring a Heavyweight wrestler, a tag team and an X-Division wrestler battling in singles, tag and stipulation bouts. The finale will be a "two ring, triple chance Battle Royal."

There are no confirmed taping dates yet for the PPV specials beyond January.

Some of those sound like a lot of fun. Also international incident and specifically mentioning Ireland, anybody come to mind?

Ah, so it's just revising the ol' In Your House style of PPVs, not such a big change afterall. Dang it.

Really looking forward to them shows with international flavour, but would rather chop my own head off than watch another ecw get together. So a mixed bag.

Be nice to see Fergal have a match or two.

Looks like rovert might get to see those Flying Elvises again too!

India is obviously Dutt, UK would be Williams. Hopefully it is Devitt for the night but not full time.

Think the only one I'm iffy on the ECW one. But hell if it gets Raven back it'll be worth it. Lynn will probably wrestle that one too, in which case it's pointless doing him vs RVD at the X-Division one before hand. Two of the few guys who could still have a decent length match. RVD, Lynn, Bully, Devon, Richards, Snow, Guido, Mamaluke, Rhino? Not many guys left who might be able to put on a good match.

I'm looking forwards to the Knockouts one too. No way they can do it with the amount they have now (6 or 7?) so they'll have to bring in new talent.

Also interested in the 10 reunion despite it being year 11 :pac:

I thought it was closer to the end of the year for him? If that list is in any kind of order, it could be as soon as March or April it's recorded.

    http://www.impactwrestling.com/news/item/4021-TNA-IMPACT-WRESTLING-Launches-The-GUT-CHECK-CHALLENGE-Voting-Begins-Saturday
TNA IMPACT WRESTLING is launching The TNA Gut Check Challenge, creating an interactive experience by letting fans decide the one previous “TNA Gut Check” participant who is most deserving of appearing on IMPACT WRESTLING’s “TNA Gut Check” segment on Spike TV.

First Round voting will begin Saturday morning at ImpactWrestling.com

ImpactWrestling.com will host the TNA Gut Check Challenge with fans interacting to decide the ultimate winner. A tournament format will be open to past participants in the “Gut Check” seminars with videos, short bios and more. This format will give fans a direct impact on who wins the Gut Check Challenge. Fans will learn about the different participants and ultimately choose their favorite to advance.

The tournament will be staged in rounds with fans voting to decide who will advance in each round until the final matchup – and winner - is ultimately decided.

In the spring of 2012, IMPACT WRESTLING brought “TNA Gut Check” to Spike TV. This competition sees an aspiring wrestler get a chance to tell their story, have a match and be evaluated with the ultimate goal of earning an IMPACT WRESTLING roster contract. Alex Silva, Taeler Hendrix, Sam Shaw, Wes Brisco, Christian York, Crimson and Jesse Sorensen have all passed their “TNA Gut Check” to earn a spot on the Impact Roster. Now the competition is getting even bigger.

The judging panel (Sr. VP of Talent Relations Bruce Prichard, Sr. Director of Talent Relations Al Snow, and former Two-Time World Champion Taz) will evaluate wrestlers’ performance and give their final verdict on IMPACT. Fans are asked to answer this one simple question: Which participant is most deserving of appearing on the “TNA Gut Check” segment on Impact Wrestling?

Ric Flair is booked to appear at the upcoming RAW and SmackDown tapings on 1/21 in San Jose and 1/22 in Sacramento. Flair will then leave to Japan to make appearances for All Japan Pro Wrestling.

According to a report sources, Flair is working on a per-night deal with WWE and is not under contract. This allows Flair to take bookings with independent promotions and other outside appearances like All Japan. TNA is still sending feelers to him following his appearances on WWE television.

We’ll keep you posted as we hear more. Stay tuned!

TNA announced via press release that they have signed a deal with Nippon Television which will see Impact and PPVs air on the G+ cable channel. The shows will air at 7:30 PM on Saturdays. This will include iMPACT!, the four early PPV shows and the monthly “PPV specials.”

This will be the first time that the promotion has been aired in Japan. TNA executive Andy Barton commented, saying, “This agreement with Nippon Television’s G+ will allow TNA to deliver its exciting brand of professional wrestling to our ever growing Japanese fanbase. The history of wrestling in Japan is very long and very rich and everyone at TNA is thrilled that we’re now a full part of it.”

    TNA are in Glasgow tonight:

    House show results from Glasgow
    1) TNA Tag Team Champions Chavo Guerrero and Hernandez beat Christopher Daniels and Kazarian. The heels wore Braveheart face paint and kilts, funny stuff. Quite a good match, lots of heat for Daniels in particular. Finish saw Guerrero pin Kazarian with the frog splash.

Earl Hebner got his entrance next. Gets worse every time we see it. He had old school Bret Hart glasses on this time and told the fans to suck it. Utterly cringe.

    2) Marty Scurl pinned Rockstar Spud with a really cool cradled brainbuster style move. Spud cuts a mean heel promo and is around the same height Earl Hebner. They had a good little match, both guys worked hard.

    3) The Blossom Twins beat Tara and Gail Kim. Velvet Sky was guest referee. The match was rubbish. Finish saw Tara stop Kim scoring the pin out of nowhere and for no real reason. The twins switched places and Gail got small packaged for the finish. Velvet celebrated with them afterwards.

    4) X-Division Champion Rob Van Dam pinned Zema Ion. RVD was very popular but the match was dull. Ion had the majority of the offence until Van Dam hit the rolling thunder and frog splash out of nowhere for the pin.

    INTERMISSION

    5) Austin Aries beat Bobby Roode and James Storm in a Three Way match. Match was mostly Roode and Aries trying and failing to double team Storm. Storm started hitting his trademark moves only for Aries to hit him with a brain buster out of nowhere for the pin. Match was fine, everyone popular with the crowd. Storm celebrated his loss afterwards.

    6) Bully Ray pinned Magnus in a No DQ Match. Bully was reinstated by his “father-in-law” Hulk Hogan he claimed, so it appears he and Brooke are married after all. Fun match, both guys worked hard. Ray pinned Magnus after a choke slam through a table in the ring.

The ring announcer bloke told the crowd to “go and do something out of your seats” as it was going to take them “17 minutes” to build the “20 foot” cage. Just what you need 6 matches into a two and a half hour TNA show. What an utter farce.

    7) Sting and Kurt Angle beat Devon and DOC in a “22 foot high steel cage” match. Finally after 17 minutes of sheer boredom the match began. The cage, in reality, was about 15 feet tall. Big reaction for Sting and Angle. Mike Knox attacked Angle before he got in the cage and kept him there for the majority of the match, leaving Sting alone against the Aces & 8s dudes inside the cage. Match really sucked until Angle got in (about 6 mins in) and ran wild. The ref got bumped and a fourth masked A&8 member ran into the cage (door was left open) and hit Angle with a hammer for a near fall. Sting then awoke from his slumber and took the hammer, hit Devon and got the pin. All in it went 8 minutes, less than half the time it took to build the cage. Total, utter waste of time. After the match, Aces & 8s teased breaking up but hugged and celebrated to send the crowd home confused.

Overall the show was bad. The last match killed it. Felt as if they couldn’t wait to get out of there. Really poor, especially after taking the best part of 20 minutes to build the cage, which on reflection was utterly pointless.

Surely it should only take 5-10 minutes for the cage? Have someone cut a promo from the entrance way to eat up time and it would fly in.

16 minutes and 47 seconds it took in Dublin they put it up in 8 pieces and test it takes ages

Let's face it, TNA just aren't great when it comes to production value. It's really makes you feel like you're watching an independent promotion sometimes.
