Just wondering has anyone managed to get a deal on their SKY HD subscription? Would love to get HD in but think the 15euro extra is too excessive.Dont live in area where I could avail of NTL but their charges of 5euro extra a month seem quiet reasonable.

I don't think anyone has. Sky are pretty strict about it.

I got 12 month HD off them for half price €7.43 or there abouts, I was a new customer & signed up for sports package....that was about 9 months ago.

Watching rubgy in HD at the moment, HD all the way!!!

HD sports are nice to look at but sadly they don't justify the cost for me anymore.

Sky's HD line-up is very good, but I agree that the cost is very high. BBC offer a limited HD service for free on Freesat. This includes many of the major sports events they carry. ITV are also expanding their free HD service. You can swap in a Freesat box instead of a Sky one, and you can even record for free! You'll get a good range of channels but you'll need an aerial for th Irish Channels. (Not as bad asit sounds.)

See here for a list of free channels available. If you do decide to go with Freesat, Richer Sounds do good deals for boards.ie members.
