Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Its like golf, some days are great and some are horrible. It helps to keep the interest in the hobby.

Was it Gary Player who once said, "The more I play the luckier I Get" So if we keep taking photos..............................;)

Some good photos, some bad photos and some downright interesting photos. Pity I missed it. :(

Thanks to SinisterDexter for it organising it and a big thanks to John for all the great tips. I learned so much from him and from everyone else (cheers Terry), really great night guys.

The only thing that annoyed me from the night was actually John:rolleyes:. He was teaching me about aperture and shutter speed, spending a lot of time with me and he quickly took shots as examples, not looking like he was putting too much time into composition, or caring how they came out. All his 'quick example' shots were miles better than shot I took over the whole night. Damn you John :D

I'll post some of mine when I get a chance to upload them.

Thanks again and see you at the next one

Cheers! Funny, no 2 is my fave of that bunch! I'm still half thinking I went a bit PP crazy on number 1...

I never think of shooting in b/w yet most of my favourite shots I see here on boards are b/w. Just earlier tonight I started to play around with b/w with muddy football foots Hurl and helmet.

There is a nice feel to #2 but just have a little preference for 1 AND 3.

Some very nice results - despite the clouds. And I really like your different approach Zoe.
Only had a quick look through mine last night and am now to tired to decide, but try to show my results as soon as possible - if they are any good;)

And like everyone really enjoyed the evening. When's the next one, Will?

Thanks for the feedback guys... I definitely have discovered a preference for B&W.

Good to meet up guys. Thanks for organising. Not really happy with any of mine but here are the 3 best. At least I learned a lot.

Well done. I like #1 but a tighter crop at top and bottom.
As you say, "At least Ilearned a lot". If ya picked up a few tips it was an evening well spent.

Sure, Mondays are normally good for me!
From the south side of the docklands this time? We can get in Charlotte Dock Quay also from that side.

    Charlotte Dock Quay?

Somebody suggested Grand Canal Basin on the night.

I would be on for another photowalk on Monday night 8th. Feb 2010
Sinister, I love the photo of the seat. Super colours.
How about a new thread for it.

Oooooh, liking the sound of this semi-regular monday night walk, folks!

Also, Sinister, that bench shot is awesome. Great shapes.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,256 ✭✭✭LeoB

Sinsterdexter what a lovely shot #2 is.
Dont think I can make the next walk but hope ye get a good turnout and look forward to seeing the results.
(Maybe if I get enough browney points I will make it)

    - why is life busier when you are unemployed?

Cause you're getting slower;) - and do all those little things you never had the time for while in a job...talking from experience;)

I'm up for another walk, just not next Monday - Documentary workshop in DCC...

Oh, and absolutely agree with the bench shot. Really draws you into it.
