Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    i have a 03 vw passat 1.9tdi, 63k on clock
ive noticed the last week or 2 when i go to accelerate there is a long delay before the pick up kicks in, i could have it floored in third gear and nothing happens for 10 seconds,
any ideas why before i bring it to get seen ?
i havnet a clue about cars tbh !

It could be a number of things from sensors to turbos.

When you get to about 2000 revs can you hear the turbo whistle?

Most common fault with all cars that have acceleration issues is a bad air flow meter. Easy fix, but the part *could* be more than €100.

I have a passat tdi and this has happened twice to me over the 120k miles I have driven it. Both times it was the Engine Management System had shut off the turbo because there was a problem with the air flow meter. 80 euro for a new one and as diarmaid said an easy fix.
