Water pressure in Ferroli boiler

We had a ferroli condensing boiler installed last year. The water pressure in the boiler drops from time to time and we open a mains valve in our hot press and this brings back up the pressure. Our problem at the moment is that the county council has reduced our mains water pressure so that it is not strong enough to top up the boiler pressure. Does anyone know of any other way to top up the pressure in the boiler. Or is there a way to force the pressure in the pipes up??

    Any ideas??

You can pressurize system with a hand pump, or worst case fit a small heating tank and have a small single impeller pump fill / pressurize heating.

Is your boiler failing to come on due to low pressure and why do you find your self topping it up? a sealed system should hold pressure for years.

Thanks for your reply, Where would we use the hand pump and what type of hand pump would we use??

    Thanks

No prob, just a plain old plumbers hand pump found at any decent plumbing suppliers. Connect hand pump to anywhere thats most suitable. Without seeing your hot press its hard to say exactly, you'll need to turn off mains and connect up some extra fittings, tee and valve, even gauge but you could leave gauge out, one built into hand pump.

Min pressure required tends to be between 1 to 1.5 bar, your mains pressure should at least reach 1 bar, you might have some other problem apart form mains.

Thanks Ill try this in the morning. Hopefuly this will work, Im hoping its just the mains as they have been turning on and off the mains supply in the area for the past week and pressue has been very low.

Best mains pressure is at night, less demand on main. I've seen roads being opened all over the place so I'd say your suffering as a result of Co Council mains works, soon enough you'll at least have 1 bar pressure min, what ever poor mains you have now can only be temporary. Best of luck.
