Single Farm Payment question

What is the situation when a farmer who is in receipt of the SFP dies and his widow who is unable to keep the cattle wishes to sell them?

Does the SFP require a minimum number of head of stock to be retained or can she sell all the cattle and just keep the land?

Can the land be rented out or does the SFP go to the tenant then?

The land will be transferred into her name and she will reapply for the SFP. Is this just a matter of paperwork (transferring from her late husband) or will she lose all because she never had her name on any farm records prior to this ?

Will she get a new herd number or will it be transferred from the husbands one?

Any other considerations to be aware of?

Thanks in advance and sorry for all the questions.

Plenty of things to consider. First question is who were the entitlements left too? they dont automatically go with the land.
Does she want to farm? or would it suit her better to set the place?
    Nothing happens automatically!
probably best to discuss this either in person or over the phone with consultant or some else experienced in these matters.
If you pm me I can send you our office number
