heard it was in good nick alright.played there alot when i started playing but dont play there anymore as i think its way too open and too many short holes

1st outing of the year today in Moor Park Navan
Hcap 18 (should be a little higher)
    Strokes 93
    Par 72
Parred 3 of the last 4 holes. Had one or two night mare holes alright from Bad shots

For 20e its not a bad place to go out and blow out the cobwebs, though the greens have been spiked and sanded and weren't running very true. Enjoyable saturday morning nonetheless

One of those rounds where everything seemed to go my way and got one of my goals for the year in breaking 80

Gross 77 net 63 (hcp 14) off back tees
    11 pars
    1 birdie
    6 bogeys

Game been really good since changing swing on driver over winter has made difference of at least 3 or 4 shots per round, by keeping ball in play! Also changed putter so got rid of several 3 putts per round and finally getting one or two over 5feet.

    Score: 38pts
    Handicap: 17

Had an extremely erratic round. Had 5 double bogeys in all. Pretty bad, but to be fair 3 of those were from a second ball off the tee.

I did get two birdies to save the round though.
On the 14th 260y par 4 I hit a beautiful drive and just lipped my 8ft eagle put.
On the 17th I put the ball within a foot from about 140y out.

34 points in Lucan on Saturday off 1.

Started off by 3 putting the 1st from 18 feet, 4 putting the second from about 25 feet (very questionable pin on that hole...) and comfortably missing the 3rd green with a wedge, leading to another bogey. +4 through three holes, and finished +3 so have to be moderately happy with that, even with a couple of careless bogies coming in on 10 and 14.

    5 under 67 off 11

    yes...it was a scramble with a 20 and a 16 hcp:D so 59 nett.

Delighted with my play. especially with my driver.. 11 out of 14 fairways for me with one just off it. Birdied all the par 5s and were unlucky not to have eagle on 9th. I knoced a drive and 5iron to 10 feet. It was a tricky downhiller tho and we all missed it:(TBH we missed a lot of putts because apart from 11 and 12 we went with wedge to every par 4:cool:

    67 off 9, 4 over gross.

Was 2 under gross after 12, and went to bits over the last 6, 2 doubles and a couple of singles. Could have been a seriously good score.

My aim at the start of the year was just to start playing to 9 again (hadn't played for 2 years) so very happy to be 4 over.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,627 ✭✭✭Benicetomonty

69 gross off 1 around home course (Lucan).
Silly bogies on 4 and 12, 2 of the easier holes on the course, negated by birdies on 7 and 9, plus an eagle on 17 to top it off. Still not good enough for a net prize and beaten on the back 9 for the gross. It's tough at the top :(

But encouraging following some very poor play last weekend :D

Played my first game in a month & first comp in 10 years on easter monday.
Windiest day Ive ever played probably. Played rubbish. Drove well on the back nine though. Putted well too. Thinned & fatted my way around most of my irons. Had zero confidence chipping around the greens.

Great round today. First full round off the greens (great to say goodbye to the winter mats). The course was shortened to Par 69 from 71 and it was still lift, clean and place and despite starting bogey bogey I shot a level par 69 gross for 47 points off 11 and am absolutely thrilled to have shot my first par round!! Helped it has to be said by a having only 27 putts and holing three 30-35 footers. Anyway, buzzed!

Scratch Cup Qualifier: 74 gross in Lucan off 1.

5 birdies but a very disappointing return. Included a horrible 4 putt (that was very nearly a 5 putt) on the temporary green of the par five 5th for 7 and a missed 3 footer on the last green which cost me the gross prize to my younger, less attractive brother of all people.

Second week in a row to be clipped on the back 9 for the gross, down 24 pro v1's :(

But did manage to qualify at least :)
