Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

If you are looking for a display for graphical work, especially photography, don't look at TN panels. Rule of a thumb. Maybe a fist.
Seriously, the viewing angles on TN panels are horrible narrow. Unless you are able to fix yourself in one seating position for all time whilst working on graphical content.
Stretch yourself a little and you won't regret. My 24" of pleasure made by DELL is just delight. Now I can see what I have been producing in last few years! :D

Nope, if it is 24" below €400, it has to be TN - no way.
Get a loan, good display with few years warranty is worth it.

dell does a nice 24inch with an i-ps 8bit panel

I think it costs around 600euro, mine was 850 at the time I bought it .
Ultrasharp WFP2408 is what I have

The 2408WFP are a fantastic monitor. I've owned a few of these in the past and found them to be perfect for photo editing. The older 2407WFP-HC is also very good and come up from time to time on Adverts.ie. Apple Cinema displays are also very good...if somewhat expensive. I've been running a Dell 30" 3008WFP for the last couple of years and am very impressed by it's performance.

There are a couple of different technologies for lcd panels. some are just variants/improvements on the other.

    The basic ones are:

TN - good response time, poor viewing angles, poor colour accuracy
PVA -good viewing angles, very good colour accuracy, slower response time
IPS - best viewing angles, colour accuracy, better response time than PVA type screens.

There are variants of these - MPVA, SPVA,S-IPS,H-IPS etc.

http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/ have reviews and a Buyers FAQ section.
They also have a search facility to see what type of panel is in a particular screen.
http://www.flatpanelshd.com/panels.php have a similar search facility.

You can also calibrate your display with a Spyder or equivalent.
