BBC reporting that Leo McLoone has a suspected broken ankle and could miss a number of months. One of the best performers so far according to what I have heard.

That's a great result, should be looking at a push for promotion now as Division 2 should be safe enough.

A good win in Navan today, but Meath were extremely poor-kicked 4-5 balls into the keepers hands in the 1st half with the wind among many other things.

Ryan Bradley scored 3 points in the 1st half, but was pretty quiet after the break-I think Meath may have changed his marker.

Michael Murphy scored some amazing points-probably man of the match. When he gets the right ball, he's nearly unstoppable. Murphy, McHugh, Lacey and McGee very good for Donegal. Work-rate of the team was incredible-still a lot or fannying about in the forward line, but with more purpose than I'm used to seeing.

So away to Derry next week, who will be without Eoin Bradley. If we contain Paddy Bradley, we should win.

Still wide open-even if we beat Derry, there's no guarantee of promotion, and Laois away will be tough.

I thought we'd be facing a battle to just stay up so anything after this is a bonus.

Just a note on the ladies, into the Division 1 S/F's, up there with Cork and Monaghan, more traditional Ladies GAA counties. Great achievement and hopefully signs of more to come:

RTÉ Sport: GAA - Donegal seal semi-final spot

Donegal all Ireland champions 1-11 to 0-11. Well done lads

Great stuff. Fair play to the lads. It must have been tough to go out and do it all again after the farce the last time out.

    Up Donegal!! :D

Full time in Celtic Park - Derry 2-12 Donegal 2-18.
Huge score for Donegal. Fair play to the lads. The workrate seems to be absolutely massive from every single player and the full forward line of Murphy, McFadden and Molloy are as dangerous as you will get in most counties.

Not looking good for the under 21's against Cavan, 0-09 to 1-01 down in the second half poor return from the forwards just two scores.

0-08 to 0-06 up at half time Donegal were 5-0 up after 8 minutes and they were against the wind first half.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,282 ✭✭✭Carrickman

won 1-17 to 1-08 the guys on Highland reckon we are promoted so that and a trip to Croke Park in a few weeks great to have a bit of a buzz about the team again, also looks like the game in Croke park could be a sell out as Dublin are in the Division 1 final.

Fantastic stuff. Day out to Croker be great buzz. Rounds of a great weekend after a great result in Towney yesterday:)

We still have to play Laois and they, Tyrone and Derry are on 8 points, we are on 10.

Tyrone and Derry would need big wins and Laois to beat us well. Does head to heads come into it first? That would mean we are up no matter what.

Yeah that's the way it is sorted.

    So we're up!

Our 1st defeat in the league, but we should be kicking ourselves after an error-ridden performance and a dumb sending off. Turning point was when Molloy shot straight at the keeper and Laois went up and scored a goal of their own. Hegarty was sent off around this time as well (can't recall if this was before or after the Laois goal). But, going in 9-3 down at HT meant that we had a mountain to climb in the 2nd half-I have been worried about our tendancy to start slow and today it caught up with us. Very fussy ref, but he was equally bad to both sides. MJ Tierney really punished us from frees, and Donegal missed too many of their own. Karl Lacey was missed as well-not sure why he didn't start, Martin Boyle started in his place wearing No. 20 (and played quite well).

On another day, we win this game-hopefully that day is in 2 weeks time.

I think Lacey picked up an injury during the week in training.

Calling all Donegal fans, seeing a Jim has got a buzz going again with the county team again it's time that the fans did their part(not saying that the fans are not doing their part this is an idea for the summer!!) as some of you will remember in the early to mid 90's a large group of Donegal fans from all over the county used to gather behind one of the goals with lots of colors and inflatables (bananas etc) and sang their hearts out for the team, we also had the odd accordion player thrown in!!

I am going to advertise this a much as possible through places like here and the local press to get Donegal fans together at the town end for the opening Ulster Championship match against Antrim and take a much colour and be ready to make plenty of noise for the team pass this on to anyone interested we might as well get all fans interested in this together than being separated all around the ground and hopefully we will have a long summer of meetings so let's get behind the team in the "spirit of 92".

Jim has named the Donegal team that is starting the league final. Something he never done before I think he must be afraid some of the clubs will start the county men..
