    We all love pets, and we love to talk about them. But remember, there are some simple rules:

    This board is intended for the discussion of animal welfare, anything else in relation to animals should remain in the main forum.

    Please read the main forum charter here as those rules apply here also.

    Please note that all threads and posts in this sub forum are now premoderated - see here for more info.

    In addition to those rules:

    Animal Cruelty
    From now on any more condoning animal cruelty BAR asking for how to deal with “vermin” will NOT be tolerated.
    Endorsing or condoning violence in any form will result in an immediate ban.
    Do not post anything others would find offensive.

    Advocating causing pain to any animal is a bannable offense.
    (To make that clearer, an example is pellet-guns. They are NOT an instrument designed for animal control and advocating their use on an animal will get you banned. I hope thats clearer).

    No discussion of putting animals to death via illegal/painful means. If an animal needs to be put to sleep a trained professional i.e. a vet should be contacted.

    No links to the likes of PETA/ALF/demonstrations etc.
    To reiterate again - there is no free speech on boards - Any libellous statements against an individual or company will result in a permanent ban for all those involved.

    Injured/sick animals
    If you are posting about an injured/sick animal or pet do not assume any advice or links to "possible causes" given on this forum are the answer to your problem.
    Any injured or sick animal should be taken to a vet asap, neither Boards.ie or any of its members can be held responsible for any advice given on this forum causing harm to any person or animal.

    No animal sales as per the other charter, and see the Rehoming threads at the top of the forum for details on rehoming.
    Please be wary of rehoming scams as there have been issues before.
    Anyone who is involved in this scam will be permanently banned from Boards.And as a mod if anyone has been a victim of this scam could they please Pm the mods with the details.

    Posting in Animal Welfare or Animals and Pet issues to troll users in Hunting Forum is not acceptable; nor are regular posters from A&PI or AW who troll in those forums. In both cases, infractions and/or bans may be given by mods in both forums even if the user only posted in one forum.

    This is going to be enforced by mods of both forums so a ban in one could lead to a ban in both.
