Fibre Optic Network Map- Ireland and European Connections

Hi all.

Looking to see if there is more detailed info for the existing and planned fibre optic network in Ireland and any Ireland - European connections, specifically cable maps.

Only thing I could find is from Geant

Tried searching forum with "fibre" and "optic" but no good for info I'm looking for.

For the proposed cables - Celtix Connect have quite detailed maps on their site for their proposed cable.

Should be details on Project Kelvin on the hibernia atlantic site.

iirc there's plans to lay fibre as part of the proposed interconnector power cables to UK so esb/eirgrid should have details on that route.

Not sure of immediate plans for any others ?

Géant is academic not commercial and that is a schematic not a map.


That is coz there really is only one In Ireland , the ESB figure of 8 . Name a town if you need more info.

There is another along the old N6/N18 and a bit along the railway lines too.

Finally C and W have one following the N2 and Kelvin comes along the N2 as well.

Point of Info: Kelvin comes to Monaghan from Armagh, goes down the N2 only as far as Castleblayney and then heads over to Louth and, I assume, down the ex-N1, the M1 or the railway to Dublin.
