team line ups coming up in next few minutes. Our friends on Pool TV in dark as usual ;)

Not that happy if it's Carra at RB and Degen at RW and Kuyt up front.

Could see Insua pushing on quite a bit given the other three defenders will be all sitting back. I'b expecting a better performance from Insua with Riera in front of him.

    Aquilani to score??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,068 ✭✭✭✭Tusky

Yeah its been officially announced. Bleh - dont like the team at all. I mean, why not play N'Gog up front, Kuyt on the right, Degen at right back and Carragher in the middle ? At least that would give us a little bit of pace in defense, and we wouldnt have to play a full back on the wing. Also, Kuyt has only scored 1 or 2 goals in his last 25 games.

Reina, Carragher, Insua, Kyrgiakos, Skrtel, Degen, Mascherano, Lucas, Riera, Aquilani, Kuyt. Subs: Cavalieri, Maxi, Babel, Ngog, Spearing, Darby, Pacheco.

Assuming he gets a good run out??

    He starts.

Liverpool: Reina, Carragher, Insua, Kyrgiakos, Skrtel, Degen, Mascherano, Lucas, Riera, Aquilani, Kuyt. Subs: Cavalieri, Maxi, Babel, Ngog, Spearing, Darby, Pacheco.

the ITK was right anyway. Still at least we have decent impact players on the bench.

That selection does not inspire too much confidence. I am going to change my prediction from 1-1 to 1-0 to Spurs :(. Prove me wrong Liverpool. It would be so awesome to see a 3-0 win or something, would really do their confidence the world of good. Ain't gonna happen though.

We dont have much better atm. Shows how much we rely on Gerrard n Torres.

With just Torres, Gerrard, Benayoun, Johnson, Agger, Kelly and El Zhar out injured, it's not that much of a surprise.

Degan on the right hand side again..er, good move Rafa.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,413 ✭✭✭HashSlinging

LOL knew Kyrgiakos would start... spurs not a long ball team me cake hole.

  • Registered Users Posts: 479 ✭✭SWAR

Ah FFS...Degen on the right wing and Kuyt up front on his own :(
At least Acquilani is being played in a more advanced role.

The big Greek is surely in the team to handle Crouch, lets hope he performs as well as he did at the weekend but it will be a tougher test tonight against the pace of Defoe...very worrying.

    I'm not optimistic :(

Need Aquilani to have his first stormer (not taking away from the guy, like him alot) but the team needs drive, delighted to see Riera start.

he is not comfortable with slick passing alligned with the movement of defoe, modric, kranjcar and the rest.

Well with Lucas and masc in, I hope they'll have little chance of it and resort to long balls into the box, esp for the first 30 mins.

Degan on the right hand side again..er, good move Rafa.

He is an extremely offensive right wing back. Sticking him there isn't remotely out of the ordinary for Rafa.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 15,116 ✭✭✭✭RasTa

More on this Bale. Is he a jonah?

They have never won a game with him in the team. I think it's still true.

    Maxi and Babel obviously.

Have Defoe first goalscorer at 6/1 and a Spurs win at 2/1.

Oh not surprised by it, tired of it yes but surprised by it no.

Also, why has Aurelio been dropped from the squad ? Havent heard anything about an injury.

I think it's just taken as a given he can only play a game or two and then he'll be out again, i expect him to be gone this summer.

V annoyed to see babel back in the squad. If you are gonna go out Rafa, then go out doing it your way. I wouldn't let this worm anywhere near my squad.

Looking forward to this. Hopefully we can get the 3 pts with Kuyt scoring

Fair comment but with the number of injuries, maybe it was a case of NOT cutting off your nose to spite your face.
The team sheet does not really inspire confidence. Riera and Aqui are the 2 that I think will shape our game. They play well = good chance, they play poor = little chance.
Should be a low scoring, low chances type of a game.

Kuyt playing as a lone striker? Decent midfield. I'd like to see Aquilani performing well. Big game for him.

Would like to see Maxi get about 20 mins.

Lennon not starting for Spurs which I can only think is a good thing for Liverpool. Given the slump Liverpool find themselves in, I don't know if they would've coped with him.

I see a score draw with Liverpool scoring first and Spurs equalising late on.
